Spirituality and Wordly Issues

After going through a lot of faith crisis, I am finally seeing some improvements. I have got some insights recently.
In Islam, we are taught that this life is just a test. And that the actual goal is to have a good afterlife, basically getting into Jannah (heaven) by achieving God's pleasure.
This is the view that Abrahamic religions have, I think.
So, the insight I had is that I was focusing too much on this World and trying to perfect it. But, Islam says that this world is not supposed to be perfect. It is gonna be difficult and cruel. But our final goal should be the afterlife.
This might sound reductionist or naive to skeptics. And I am sympathetic to that skepticism, because I too ask such questions. But, if I am base these beliefs on logical evidence, then these could become great guiding principles for my life.
I could stop expecting this life to be ideal. I could more easily accept the evil present in people.
